Baylee's first meet in Georgia was at Roswell and she competed with her new team, Dahlonega Gymnastics. She loved her new leotard, and I did too. This was an amazing and wonderful new gym. The girls were so sweet and thoughtful and the coaches were just encouraging and confidence building!! If it weren't for the 24 mile drive on a two-lane road and through the mountains to get there, it would be absolutely perfect.

I can't remember which event, but she got a third place in her age group here.

Cody was such a trooper. He and Will timed it so they could miss the long warm-up and just came for the competition. He was so bored, but hung in there until the end and then we went to the really cool park across the street.

I think this might have been vault where Baylee placed first in her age group.

Here's a video of her floor exercise.

Cody's Volcano

We got this "build your own" volcano kit at Yellowstone and Cody must have asked us 5 times a day in the long car-ride when we could build his volcano. We kept telling him that once we were at Nama's (will's mom's) and settled then we would build it. When we arrived, we were all busy unpacking, cleaning and getting organized and we kept telling him he would have to wait until everything was settled. Finally, after a week or so, we built the volcano and it was great to watch erupt.

Will's new office

Well, it's much cozier than his last office, and a bit less quiet, but it's his. Here is Will's new cubicle. The kids and I still haven't seen it, but we hope to soon.

"Rocky" the lizard

While we were at Will's mom's house we saw a few lizards. I'm not a big fan of them, but Will gets all excited with the kids when he sees them. Baylee is super not afraid of them and will pick them up and as you can see here, put them on her shirt. We kept seeing the same lizards so Will and the kids named them. This is Rocky, and we also had Godzilla, Lizzie and Nevel.
They so creep me out, but I am glad that Will gives Baylee and Cody the courage to enjoy them and not be afraid.

Mmmmm.....blueberries

We arrived just in time for blueberry picking and there were tons of them. We picked as many as we could and then decided to make pies. I realized that I didn't have a cookbook, though, and normally I would have looked up a recipe on the internet, but we didn't have that yet either.
Luckily, Will's mom had an old cookbook in her cabinet and we made pies. One to eat right away and one to send back to Atlanta with Will. During the seven weeks that we lived there, Will stayed during the week in Atlanta and came back to Will's mom's house on the weekends.

We also made scrumptious blueberry pancakes and many, many blueberry smoothies. I was able to freeze the ones we didn't use right away and we just used the last ones up a few days ago.

We're here!

After a long, fun and exciting, but exhausting journey it was so good to get to Will's mom's house. It is at the base of the Appalachian Mountains in North Georgia, and it's just a beautiful place to be. As soon as we got there we felt relaxed. It was different, though without his mom there. She was in Florida, staying with his sister.

Before, we would come and she would have dinner cooking all day, and lots of things to show us, and we just relaxed because we could be the kids again. But we could feel her there, and Will's dad, because they both put so much work into that house. They bought it when Will and I were still a teenagers, and invited me to go up from Florida with them one Christmas Break after Will and I had been dating a year. It was cold, I remember and it even snowed. Will and I built a snowman. There was a lot of work to be done. I don't remember doing much of the work, but I remember washing dishes and it helped me to stay warm. We haven't spent tons of time, there, because for much of our married life we have lived far away, but there are a lot of good memories of this house.

Oh, boy was Sadie glad to get out and run.....and run.....and run. She loved having lots of land to explore for the first time in her life.

Mmmmmmm. We were just in time for the blueberries. Will's mom has several blueberry bushes and they were just getting ripe.

A view from the front porch out through the back yard and Mt. Yonah in the background.

We stayed the night in a hotel and are going on to Will's mom's house in the morning.
