Last night I woke up at around 3:30 with Cody. He came into bed with me. Baylee was sleeping over next door and Sadie was already on the bed. She is huge now and takes up half the bed, and for some reason has to sleep either right where you normally put your feet or curled up in a ball behind your knees. She doesn't normally sleep with us. She sleeps with Baylee, but since Baylee was gone and Will is in Canada, I'm it. Cody tossed and turned. Sadie was right where my feet go and every time I moved her, she somehow shifted back. I couldn't sleep. So I turned on the television that we had moved out of our room because we are selling the house and we want it to look nice, but the kids and I moved back, because without Will it's just lonely going to sleep at night.
I was up for a while, because at 5:00 it started getting light out and my brain wanted to get up, but my body was still exhausted. Then Cody moved and I noticed he had wet the bed, and in his favorite GPS jammies which are almost falling off of him. They were another thing we had put away, but he found them last night and begged me to let him wear them.
So up we got. I think it was 6:30 or so. I shifted the sheets off the mattress and left them for later. We headed downstairs with his favorite green blanket and camped out on the couch. Cody, Sadie and me. We watched something else on tv that I can't remember and I fell back asleep. I woke up at 8:30 and the sun was out. It was already going to be a good day! I did my usual stuff--washing dishes, fluffing the couch pillows, and letting Sadie outside along with scrubbing the top of the stove (ugh!). Baylee came home and I started the sheets in the laundry, took a shower and we were off to church. I left a message for my mom and spoke with Will's mom and it was good to think of them and all the years of love they have given us.
At church our pastor talked about Proverbs 31 and the excellent wife. He spoke of the importance of our job as wife and mother and how appreciative our families should be of us. He is very funny and made me laugh the whole time. He made all the men stand up and clap for the women for about a minute. It made missing Will a little less hard.
We came home, made Sushi and brownies with little round colored sprinkles on top and Baylee paid for me to watch a movie on Demand. I realized I love my life!!! It can be crazy. Things happen which I am not prepared for. Things are tough. Things can be monotonous. But in the end, it's a great life. I love being a military wife. I love being a stay-at-home mom. I love homeschooling. I love my family and our zany, but loving dog.
I love my family that I feel so far away from right now and I love my dear friends.
Earlier Baylee handed me two envelopes and asked me to chose one. I picked the one that said I could watch a movie "on her". Later I will open the other one.
While Baylee and I were watching "Dan in Real Life" (what a great movie!), Cody was busy working on some envelopes of his own.
Mike from Monster's Inc.

The Beach (See the water, sand and orange bucket)
Then I fell asleep watching the movie. Baylee was next. And Cody was after her. Here is a picture of me in my favorite and very old FBI sweatshirt with a sleeping Cody, Baylee and of course Sadie.
In the evening, we went to Dairy Queen for dinner and ice cream. The sun was shining in the window and it felt so good. When we came home, the kids handed me their cards and presents. They had made their own wrapping paper, and I will treasure it always. Will, Baylee and Cody gave me the first three seasons of Grey's Anatomy on DVD!!! Wow! How exciting for me.

To top off a great day, Baylee made me a hot bubble bath and put the movie in the laptop. It was the sweetest day. I love being a mother.
